STORY LINE: The disappearance of a young woman on board a magnificent ocean liner in 1966 had long been assumed a suicide. However, now that the woman’s bones have turned up, the Cold Case team goes to work, determined to solve a 40-year-old murder…
[DARCY] 24, attractive, but clearly form the lower class, Darcy is an impetuous, restless young woman, eager to experience the world. She has taken her inheritance and bought tickets for a transatlantic crossing on an ocean liner. Accompanying her is her close friend, Grace, who hopes Darcy will settle down and marry her longtime boyfriend, Grace’s husband’s brother. However, two weeks in Europe has Darcy wanting more — things like excitement, romance and freedom. [YOUNGER TUCKER] Seen in 1966, he is a dashing young man in his 20s, an employee of Gibbs Shipping Lines, in charge of first class operations on board the SS United States. A passionate fellow with a love of ships, he is immediately smitten by the fiery young Darcy, despite the fact that he is engaged to his boss’ daughter. Loyal, not about to betray his allegiances, he, speaks candidly with the authorities regarding the night in question, and how he had tried to reason with the headstrong girl…GUEST STAR (23)
[YOUNGER GEOFFREY] Seen in 1966, he is late 20s to early 30s, the first class head steward on the SS United States, and is keeping a wary eye on the clearly out-of-place Darcy who has crashed an upscale party. Determined to call a halt to some foolish, last-minute, onboard wedding that would prove extremely upsetting for his employer, he has a little heart to heart with Darcy, just prior to her going missing…GUEST STAR (23)
[OLDER COTTER] Seen in present day, now 66, formerly a kitchen worker on the ocean liner, the SS United States, he vehemently explains to Valens that he suffers from a condition called kleptomania. He also remembers Darcy quite fondly and understood the kind of young woman she was…GUEST STAR (17)
[YOUNGER COTTER] Seen in 1966, with unkempt sideburns, 23 years old, he is a kitchen worker on the ocean liner, the SS United States, also a petty thief who breaks into Darcy and Grace’s stateroom, stealing Darcy’s necklace. Moments later, confronted by Darcy, he makes her a deal, telling her he’s “hooked in” and can get her whatever she wants.
